special journal entry by Fritz von Schnitzler
I was intrigued to hear that there would be a festival celebrating one of Austria's great composers - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - in the charming city of Charleston, South Carolina, United States of America. Eager to take a little trip and withdraw from the bustle of Vienna, I eagerly accepted the assignment of foreign correspondent for our illustrious newspaper, the Kronenen Zeitungung to cover this festival.

I arrived in Charleston and was strolling around the city’s quaint
cobblestone streets, when I was almost run over by a group of young students
exclaiming that Mozart was already in town – making a publicity tour - and creating quite a commotion!
