I have heard that interest is growing in the upcoming appearance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for our 2013 Mozart in the South Festival. I would like to confirm that "Little Mozart" will be here for the festival as well - especially to participate in the "Little Mozart Circus!"
The Little Mozart Circus is an amazing outdoor event, this year taking place on Saturday, September 21 from 8:30am-1pm on Marion Square.
"Little Mozart" has encouraged a number of student performers to come out and play under his Big Tent!
Scheduled performers include YOST! (the Hungry Monk Bluegrass Band), Hungry Monk Fiddlers, Childbloom Guitar, Charleston County School of the Arts Orchestra, Charleston Children's Chorus, Music & Arts, Leonard School of Music and Na Fidlieri.
"Little Mozart' is most excited about the annual Suzuki Play In, lead by the Carolina String Academy at Ashley Hall School. This is a chance for ANY violinist who knows music from Suzuki Books 1 and 2 to come on stage and perform with other violinists!
Also, during the whole Circus we will have an Instrument Petting Zoo where children can try their hand at playing violin, cello, flute, trumpet and drums!
So, be sure to mark your calendars and come on out to Marion Square on Saturday, September 21.
What a charming idea! We should do this in Vienna!
